December 21, 2015 will long be remembered as the day the Philippines captured the Universe for a 3rd time. And it was handed to the Filipinos – via Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach – in a manner that will have its equal share of a sweet spot in pop culture. The time for longing has ended. The drought has finally stop. Miss Philippines searched for the 64th crown. And found it. Amidst all the drama caused by the host, Pia will come home soon (she was given permission to fly back to Manila for Christmas instead of getting an instant two-month lockdown) wearing the DIC head adornment and a sash that says “Miss Universe”.
