The 12 Official Candidates of Miss Cebu 2014 are not looking to join the nationals just yet. Right now, the prime focus is to give their 100% to top the regional competition and show the world-class Cebuana to everyone.

CEBU, Philippines – It’s the pearl anniversary of Cebu’s most prestigious pageant — 30 years of crowning Cebuana gems, 30 good years of producing “national and international beauty queens, world-class models, and individuals who excel and stand out in different fields.” Wouldn’t it be a feast for the eyes to see all 30 queens on one stage come coronation night?
In light of the still-ongoing earthquake scare that has struck Cebu and neighbouring Bohol, the search for an ideal Miss Cebu – who is not merely beauty and brains, but is ready and willing to make a difference in the lives of those in need – becomes even more relevant.
“Over this past week, our reigning Miss Cebu, Neesha Lucero Murjani along with previous Miss Cebu winners, candidates and the Cebu City Tourism Office gathered donations and went to deliver and distribute relief goods to Bohol and bring smiles and hope to affected families. Other pageant alumni continue to help out in their own ways. This is what the Miss Cebu pageant is all about. It’s about not just being a beautiful face but being a woman of substance, an embodiment of the spirit, character and heart of the Cebuana,” said Miss Cebu 2014 project chairperson and Cebu City Tourism Commissioner Jaja Chiongbian-Rama during Miss Cebu 2014’s presentation of official candidates Wednesday at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
“The Cebu City Tourism Commission saw this in the 12 official candidates for Miss Cebu 2014. They are beautiful, intelligent and socially-aware,” Chiongbian-Rama added.
Miss Cebu’s pre-pageant event will be on January 10, 2014 at Ayala Center Cebu, while the grand coronation night is on Jan. 15 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Theme for the coronation night will, of course, revolve around the pageant’s pearl anniversary.
