I just thought of featuring her on Throwback Thursday spotlight with this question: do you like your future Binibinis exuding the classic ‘Gandang Kayumanggi’ (Brown beauty) of the Filipina? We’ve been focusing on a lot of fair-skinned, mixed-race and freckled mestizas for so long that the most exotic of our lasses remain unnoticed.
We may overlook the likes of former Bb. Pilipinas winners such as Desiree Verdadero, Anthea Robles, Perfida Limpin and Lia Andrea Ramos. But honestly, they are the ones who effortlessly shine, especially if a pageant’s host city is either the U.S.A. or Europe.
