In just a matter of hours, Part 1 of the fierce Beauty Battle Royale will unfold at The Axis inside Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. It’s the Miss Universe 2015 Presentation Show. And the whole pageant world could no longer contain its excitement, not only for their respective candidates, but also for the head-on collision of some of the most gorgeous beauties in this year’s edition.
I know. I know. You’ve had a lot of nagging concerns yesterday regarding such a strong online buzz about the evening gown of our Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach being sub-standard or worse, oversized. But if I were in the middle of everything (physically, that is), and a problem like that presents itself in wild abandon, then I would sacrifice life and limb to make sure that things are promptly resolved up until the very last minute. Since the Aces & Queens people (headed by Jonas Gaffud) are there, I have faith in their power of passion and persuasion. Trust these individuals to move heaven and earth to do everything in their capacity to keep things in control. There is such a thing as a beautiful compromise, or “penalized replacements” if you will. By hook or by crook, Pia will own that stage in a gown that will pass the grade, if not with high-flying colors.
Otherwise, heads will roll. And I don’t see that happening. Jonas Gaffud is stressed, sure. But he will not let us down. His team will not let us down. And Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta will relent. That’s how I see it. ;-)
