Misters 2015 The Pageant: Take me to Church, and pray

Misters 2015 The Pageant Official Candidate Church Hill Garcia has been gathering some interest when he was able to qualify as one of this year’s contenders. The name does make him sound holy. And if one does really make an effort to know a few interesting details in his personal life, it will be revealed that he once intended to enter the seminary to become a Priest. But just when he was at the point of making that serious commitment, it dawned on him that his vocation wasn’t really as strong as he had hoped it would be, not to mention the fact that he is an only child. He continues to be quite a prayerful guy, though.

Accountancy is where he found his footing – and this field gave his parents sighs of relief. But once more, Church found the idea of desk work much too constricting. So after finishing the degree, he gave different fields a try. Dancing, though, keeps beckoning his interest. He has already tried several genres, and is more than happy to give his best to lyrical hip-hop. It’s like an interpretative expression of moves and turns amidst endless chains of words to tell a story in sing-song beat.

But enough of that for now since he is likely to showcase his talent in the same when the right time comes. For now, let’s see how he answered our Q&A.

1) As a Misters of Pilipinas 2015 candidate, give me a 30-second intro about yourself which will make followers show more interest in you.

Hi ! Im Church Hill B. Garcia, turning 21 this August. I’m a graduate of BS Accountancy from Holy Angel University and currently working as a Marketing Assistant of an HMO Company. I do have a clothing line – Printophile. I like dancing to slow sexy songs using lyrical hiphop genre. I also play the guitar and I do believe in forever.

2) As one of the candidates, what image do you want to show the others?

I will show a brother image to them, one who could extend a helping hand in times of difficulties.

3) In Miss Universe, a popular running line is “yellow is the color of joy”. What color best represents you?

The color that best represents me is blue, because I believe that it symbolizes patience. I am always patient in everything that I do for I know in God’s perfect timing, things will fall into their proper places. In God’s will.

4) Not everyone can win a special award in the competition, but if you are qualified for the following, which would you prefer to win: Mister Friendship or Mister Talent?

I would like to win Mr. Talent because i am able to share what i am capable of doing.

5) If you win one of the titles, people will expect you to be a good role model. How will you start building that image if ever?

Being a role model starts from yourself. Your perception differs from others but as long as you serve as a good example to them by being responsible with every actions you are doing, then everything will be alright.

6. What expectations do you have in terms of handling the national competition? Being that it will be here your biggest so far, will you adopt a unique gameplan if ever?

Yes, totally. Misters of Pilipinas is a serious thing not only because it is a national competition but rather the experience I am getting from it is incomparable. My game plan is to do the best and be the best i can be because I am a mirror of what Tarlaquenos are.

7. How do you expect your life to change after being named an Official Candidate of Misters 2015?

I do not expect but i am praying. I know that this is the biggest stepping stone for my future. And for me, my age is a plus factor, but I don’t really mind even though i am one of the youngest because it’s not a measurement of how you think but rather with how you react and understand things. All of us are equal.

8) Any message to your future followers, Church?

Church draws inspiration from Channing Tatum’s character in ‘Magic Mike MMXL’ since he really likes that kind of dancing skill. But if he will have the same adulation for his talent and capabilities, that is still the big question. The only thing clear is that he is in it to wishfully win it. I pray that he will master the right grooves when it matters most.
