Alexia Sonia Edmund: A Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 standout

During last Tuesday’s screening of Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 at the Fisher Mall, one applicant always received resounding applause from the crowd everytime she would be called onstage for her spotlight turns. And when she nailed the Q&A round with the judges (myself included), the audience got even more excited about this girl who has both the beauty and brains to do well in the scholarship pageant. I won’t even go into pointing out the color of her skin which brings out her soulful eyes even more.

Her name is Alexia Sonia Edmund, currently residing and studying in Baguio City but hailing from Roxas, Isabela. Her racial mix comes from a Filipina mother and a black British father. She is 18 years old and studying towards a degree in Medical Laboratory Science at St. Louis University. She is an avid fan of America’s Next Top Model, and adds that she is also a religious person who never misses Sunday mass.

Regionally, she is the reigning Queen Isabela Tourism – a title that holds dear to her heart as it allows the promotion of the province everywhere she goes. And if she eventually makes the list of Official Candidates for Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 (gut feel tells me she will), then it wouldn’t be so hard adjusting to the nationals.

Alexia’s youth, grace and open-minded views will definitely be plus factors for the pageant. :-)
