Last night, the first round of Miss World 2013 closed door interviews started. Five judges (including Julia Morley), three ladies at a time. Groups 1 and 2 first. The five questions above were already made known to the ladies prior. One or more or none may be asked depending on the flow of Q&A. It is also possible that the judges may only focus on the individual personalities (“Tell me about yourself“).
Our Megan belongs to Group 2 so she already underwent her 5-on-3. I’m pretty confident that she handled the questions very well. She knows that leaving an impressive mark on the judges is crucial. The favorites have already been established long before, so sustaining the status with an engaging interview session will help seal the same.
The tricky part of a 5-on-3 interview is outshining the other two in an effortless manner. One person can dominate the discussion without sounding like she is trying hard to do so. There is only a thin line between getting the judges’ attention (read: charming them) and turning them off. Butting in can be a double-edged sword, especially if another interviewee speaks in halting English and a more fluent one wants to look helpful by clarifying the thought. I trust that our Megan has maintained the right aura and decorum.
Still, we need to keep on voting for her!
