Tonight is the night for Miss Philippines Glennifer Perido.
Judgment night for Glennifer. Miss Tourism International 2014/15 will be elected in less than 15 hours from now. Based from feedbacks I have gotten from Kuala Lumpur, it appears that she is one of the favorites. But there lies the catch. She’s “one of the favorites” and not “the top favorite” to win. Gut-feel is telling me that the Thai rep, Warangkanang ‘Ploy’ Wutthayakorn, is going to be the one to beat during the finals. The momentum is on her side, and it certainly helps that Mr. Nawatt Itsaragrisil is around to make his presence felt. But to tell you the truth, even without him in attendance, the Thai lass is definitely a contender. I wouldn’t feel too bad for Glennifer if she ends up landing a runner-up title to Ploy.
All I want is for our Queen to make a more than respectable placement. Back-to-back-to-back wins are very very very rare, and still elusive to earn. If she does, then international pageant history will be made. Not that I am belittling the Miss Asia ATV contest where China has almost always been declared the winner. But Miss Tourism International is more prestigious and participated in.
Win or not, Glennifer, I know that you gave it your absolute best! :-D
