Rachel Peters opted not to perform a talent

During the other day’s Talent Show of Miss World Philippines 2014 at Eclipse Bar, a number of ladies stood out with their respective presentations.

For sheer novelty, the two magician-wannabes – Valerie Weigmann and Jean Marie Feliciano – were automatic stand-outs. Based on audience feedback, however, the lady from La Union has the edge due to more polish in the execution of tricks and the like.

The aerial yoga demonstration of Christine Balaguer was also an interesting number. Given a bigger and wider contraption to use, though, she could have given a more awe-inspiring show of talent. At any rate, she made good use of her few minutes onstage.

Among the several dancers, both Priscilla Kimberly dela Cruz and Kimberly Pajares should end up head and shoulders above fellow candidates who also chose to sway with their happy feet. The former could have over-acted her interpretative moves, but credit goes to the tempered display of emotions. On the other hand, the latter could get high marks for a sword dance that was both engaging and well-choreographed.

As for the singers, they were creditable at best. There were definitely no belters or biriteras in the group. But if it’s any consolation, they will still earn some precious points for the vocal outing.

It’s a pity Rachel Peters opted out of displaying any hidden gift or skill. After all, there were no high expectations from everyone.

I’m really interested to know who will eventually bag the Miss Talent award among them. ;-)
