During the presscon, recently-crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2014 Weluree ‘Faii’ Ditsayabut announced that she is abdicating her throne.
And she finally caved in.
After so much antagonism against her win that has tremendously affected her family and friends, Miss Universe Thailand 2014 Weluree ‘Faii’ Ditsayabut tearfully announced in a Press Conference that she is abdicating her title effective immediately.
While her 1st Runner-Up Ellie (Pimbongkod Changkaew) should have automatically succeeded Faii, the organizers (led by Khun Dang) have been keeping mum about the official replacement yet and has not made any commitments for the highly-favored 2nd placer to be sent to Miss Universe 2014 instead. While some online reports are stating that she has already been named as such, my mole in Bangkok intimated that there has not been any resolution so far.
Truth be told, Ellie has a kissing controversy all her own, but this was already set aside as a non-issue since it took place in the US where she grew up.
A tearful Faii
Now if Khun Dang so decides against Pimbongkod’s succession, there might be no Thai entry in Miss Universe 2014. At any rate, there is still optimism that something can be settled soon. She will hold her own Presscon tomorrow.
